At Ginger and Tails, I create hand-drawn pet portraits from photos, carefully illustrated to capture your pet’s expression and personality. Every portrait is drawn digitally by hand – no AI, no automated tools – and each piece is treated as an individual artwork, not a template.
I’m a former art student, and pet portraiture has been part of my work for many years. My style is illustrative and expressive, focusing on recognisable details, posture, and personality, so the finished portrait feels like your pet, not a generic likeness.
Portraits are created using photographs you provide. Before I start, we’ll talk through what you’re looking for – this can be done by email, or over the phone if you’d prefer. I’ll also guide you on photo choice. Clear, well-lit, high-resolution images give the best results, and I’m happy to help you decide which photo will work best.
Each portrait is supplied as a printed A4 artwork, on high-quality fine art paper and delivered unframed, so you can choose a frame that suits your space. Personalised pet portraits make a meaningful keepsake or a thoughtful gift, whether you’re celebrating a pet you love now or remembering one you’ve lost.
Because my portraits are created from photos, they’re available UK-wide, not just locally.
Prices start from £35 with an additional small charge for P&P.

At Ginger and Tails, my dog walks focus on regular walks in scenic country locations across south Colchester.
A pet visit lasts 20 minutes and is the perfect pop-in for your pet, making sure they are fed, watered and well cared for.
Overnight pet sitting in your own home is a great alternative to a cattery or kennel, combining routine, familiarity and one-to-one care in a familiar home setting.
