Female dogs in heat policy
At Ginger and Tails, the safety and comfort of all dogs in my care is my top priority. To maintain a positive environment during group walks, I have the following policy regarding female dogs in heat:
No group walks for dogs in heat: For the safety and well-being of all dogs, female dogs in heat are not permitted to join mixed-gender group walks. This policy helps avoid any unnecessary stress or behavioral issues within the group.
Notification required: If your female dog is approaching or is in her heat cycle, please inform me immediately. This will help me adjust or pause her participation in group walks during this period.
Alternative arrangements: I am happy to offer alternative services, such as solo walks, if I am able, at the owner’s request during the time your dog is in heat. These will be charged at the solo walk rate. This ensures your dog can still receive exercise and care in a controlled, stress-free environment.
Resuming group walks: Female dogs may return to group walks once their heat cycle is complete. This typically lasts about three weeks, but it is important to confirm with your vet when it is safe for your dog to rejoin.
Refunds and rescheduling: If you have prepaid for group walks and your dog enters heat, I will gladly reschedule walks.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. This policy helps ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all dogs in my care.
